This simple tomato soup is always a highlight!

Today it`s all about the color red.

Most of us celebrated a firy New Year`s and now let`s keep the fire burning with my extravagant tomato soup.

Tomatoes are fun food. They glow and shine just like my red vinyl pants do.

Wearing shiny red vinyl pants with this tomato soup will make your day.

By wearing red, you`re making a statement.  Red appears self confident and lively.

Our mood is the seasinong of life, thats why we should always leave room for some fooling around.

It really puts me in a great mood to wear clothes that match my food.

And since most dishes are shiny anyway, splendor is the way to go.

Let`s start with my personal tomato soup interpretation.

It will give you wings if you haven`t got them already! The balsamic vinegar, the ginger, the fish sauce and the worcestersauce will create a unique taste and emphasize the wonderful aroma of the tomatoes without being overwhelming.

For 4 people you need:

  • 500ml organic tomato sauce (hot is best)
  • 300ml stock
  • 200ml red wine
  • 2 bay leaves
  • 3 cloves
  • 2cm fresh gingerroot
  • 2 medium onions
  • 3 cloves of garlic
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 2 tsp spy sauce
  • 1 tbsp balsamic vinegar
  • 1 dash of worcester sauce
  • 1 dash of fish sauce
  • 2 twigs of fresh marjoram or 2tsp dried marjoram
  • about 20 small tomatoes on the vine
  • salt and pepper
  • a few drops of tabasco to taste

Peel the onions, the garlic and the ginger and finely chop it. Wash the tomatoes and sear them with the onions, the garlic and the ginger in olive oil. Deglaze with the stock and the wine. Add the tomato sauce and the remaining ingredients. Cook over medium heat for about 30 minutes and season to taste.

Bon appetit,

Christina

And don`t forget to put on something red!
