Shiny Happy Moments

How to spread even more happiness!

What is the epitome of a happy moment for you? A holiday on the beach? The smile of a child? Or laughing with friends?

How do you create moments of happiness for others? Do you give out a lot of compliments? Do you smile while shopping?

I`m on an experiment. I`m watching myself. What do I look like while driving? A radar trap shot of me showed me making a bored face. Not very flattering when it`s actually so easy. I tried hard and started smiling at other people. Constantly. And voila, most of them smiled back.

I started expanding this game. I started to smile while cooking. Even if soup can`t smile back at me, a touch of magic did flow into it.

We are magicians. We can enchant ourselves, we can enchant others. This is exactly what children do all the time. We simply can`t resist them. Why have we lost this ability? We don`t look as cute as them alright, but we are definitely more pretty smiling than looking grumpy.

Quick, run to your mirror! Where are the corners of your mouth? Up, down, or totally nonchalant?

Let`s decide together to chose the first possibility. Try it and you`ll notice that you will feel better instantly. Even on bad days. Smile, even if you`d rather puke!

Transform yourself and enchant others!

You`ll spread more and more happiness and your haters will be jealous even more. Now is the time to make those moments of happiness happen.

After all, you know how to work your magic!

Stay unique and shine!

Yours truly,

Christina

Happy moments for me are out no my bicycle, spinning along a quiet country lane. I go out most mornings for an hour or two and absolutely love it – always puts me in a good frame of mind to greet the rest of the day.

As they say, smile and the world smiles with you – and it is quite true. I travel a great deal in my work and have found that a smile and a cheerful persona can take you a long ways, no matter where you are or what the local language is!

    Have a great shiny day!

    • Thank you very much for your wonderful words. You already found out how to start the day in a perfect way and you know how to realize this way of positiveness around the world. Keep up this positive way of living. Have a shiny weekend,

Wearing shiny clothes in a professional or culturally traditional social setting can be a bit daunting. Sometimes we might have reason to believe shiny clothes won’t be seen as acceptable. But I’ve found that one can turn this around for one’s own benefit while also helping to make shiny clothes more generally accepted. When I wear leather or vinyl to work or church, I make a conscious effort to be kind, humble, friendly, hardworking, and down to Earth. In other words, I try to be an ambassador for shiny clothes so that people won’t associate dressing in a flashy way with arrogance or weirdness or a lack of seriousness. I try to be the best version of myself I can be anyway, but when I’m wearing shiny clothes, I try to be my best partly so that I can continue to “get away” with how I like to dress.

And it’s been working great. Since I started a new job as an engineer a year ago, I’ve worn vinyl or leather pants to work (sometimes even red or purple or yellow) more times than I can remember. It’s probably over half the time. But rather than being the “weird” guy at work, people tell me how much they enjoy what I wear and are curious where I get my clothes. My office knows I’ll dress “normal” when I am meeting clients and appreciates that I do, but on a typical day, I have fun with my outfit, and even some of the office heads actively encourage me in this way. And those who don’t simply don’t seem to care one way or another.

In any case, it’s made me very happy to be in a place in my life where I can wear basically whatever I want and not feel like I’m hurting myself professionally or socially by doing so.
